Construction products are products or kits used in construction works or parts thereof. Specifically, this includes products influencing the performance of the construction works.

Construction works are buildings and civil engineering works. Examples of construction products are, among others, bricks, claddings, panelling, laths, beads, floorings, timber products, balustrade kits, etc. In the European Union, Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 on Construction Products (also referred as the Construction Products Regulation, or CPR) regulates such products.

Nevertheless, the CPR is not the only applicable legislation. In fact, EU Member States are responsible for fire safety, environmental, energy, and other requirements applicable to buildings and other construction works.
