Pressure equipment

In the European Union, pressure equipment under Directive 2014/65/EU includes pressure equipment and assemblies with a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0,5 bar.

Some examples of pressure equipment are bottles and gas cylinders for compressed air, shell and water tube boilers, pressure vessels, safety valves, electric heaters, temperature switches, pressure switches. The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) of the European Union aims to ensure the safety of such equipment placed on the EU market while guaranteeing the free movement of goods.
